OVER THE BLUE LINE : COACHING FOR RETIRED POLICE OFFICERS

Hi, I'm Samira Otung...

Alongside my passion for life-coaching, I have also worked for the police sector in a variety of different roles. Over this time I have really seen and learnt the struggles challenges and true resilience of those in policing. The joy and  purpose as well as the life long demands that face people.

If you live your life for others, you often forget to think for yourself

Retiring officers moving into a new career or taking on new adventures after leaving service, can require a period of adjustment, feel isolation and be unsure about their future. But this is nothing to fear.

Over the blue line is a coaching pathway, where I utilise my experience and expertise in both helping people through some of life’s toughest challenges and the policing sector, to be an empathetic and understanding mentor to guide you through your transition. You will have opportunity to share with like minded individuals through our events and receive more personal mentorship in one-on-one sessions.

Giving you time and clarity to think and work on what matters  to you most.

WE WILL TACKLE

Transitioning

Prepare yourself for life after the uniform by seeking guidance in your time of transitioning. Coaching keeps focus on the opportunities available now and allows you to explore other interests in your life outside of policing. Taking you from where you are to where you want to be. Coaching will boost your confidence to embrace the world as your oyster, and with the backup of police pension to give financial stability, there are many new avenues that could be explored without fear!

Rebranding

Retiring officers tend to naturally drift back into policing as civilian staff members because of lack of confidence to venture into a new sector or due to the anxieties of starting a new phase in life, i.e., uncharted territories. Officers embarking on a new venture must learn the inherent differences between working in the police and working in many other industries. Through coaching, retiring officers learn how to adopt the mindset that allows for them to boldly showcase their achievements and skills.

Next Steps

Getting ready to meet the challenges of taking on a new career should be an exciting prospect for all retiring officers. It is a chance to try new things, to expand your skills, meet new people and enter into a new chapter in life. Coaching will play a key role in making this transition as smooth as possible, and one way to achieve this is to begin narrowing down the areas you are interested in post-retirement. In addition, coaching will provide a safe environment to explore and remove any limiting beliefs and as your coach and friend I encourage you to be open-minded and future focused.

THIS IS FOR YOU IF –   You are daunted by what to do next, but are willing to go forward with integrity and focus to work together and face new challenges.
